Why buy U bolt Kits?

Who buys U bolt kits, you may say? None of us use a U bolt without the presence of nuts and washers right? I mean, how do you install it? Thus it only makes sense to purchase your U bolts as a kit, with the needed hardware right there inside the box (or assembled). Despite the fact that one can certainly purchase any U bolts in U bolt kits, there are a few industry standards that you're going to regularly find in the market.

The most common is typically best-known as Trailer Kits, or a 7/8 Trailer Kit, or even less frequently as a ¾ Trailer Kit. A Trailer Kit is usually an aftermarket suspension substitution U bolt kit for a tractor trailer. They're routinely available retail, which is another reason why acquiring a kit as a stand alone product works. Most of these packages include a pair of U bolts, 4 washers, and 4 high-nuts. The market in most cases offers these types of products in Grade 5 equivalent, but certain vendors have progressed to Grade 8 equivalent simply because of its superior durability. A handful of stores sell these kits in a bag, but they can be in most cases found in a carton with the retailer's part number and name on the package.

Yet another set which is popular, though for differing uses, is the Truck Body Mounting Kit. These particular products are utilized to mount the box on a box truck to the chassis. Sometimes these types of trucks are instead known as Van Bodies. These are typically square bent, usually 5/8 round, with coarse thread. These types of kits consist of the U bolts, four Tie Plates, 8 high nuts and eight split lock washers. Again, you can acquire these U bolt Kits in a carton with your name, logo, or barcode right on the box.

One final Trailer Kit is the Cab Guard Mounting Kit. Kind of self explanatory. It mounts a Cab Guard, occasionally known as a Headache Rack, to the semi truck, to shield the truck's cab from harm materializing from an unintended load shift. These Cab Guards take in the shock of impact, quite possibly saving the operator's life. These types of packages include 4 U bolts, identical to the Truck Body Mounting Kits, although often they are Zinc plated. They also include four Tie Plates, four spacers, 4 rubber Tie Plate pads, two rubber frame pads, 8 nylon insert lock nuts, and eight washers. Many of the pieces in these packages are Zinc coated, basically for cosmetic reasons. These are more of a niche package, but are frequently available by way of Truck outfitters.
